Samaria Gorge

Περιεχόμενο προσφοράς:

To reach the Samaria Gorge, the longest Gorge of Europe (18km long), we will drive along the north coast towards the west. On the way we will make two short breakfast breaks. We travel further to Chania and from there we turn southwards and journey up into the White Mountains and the Omalos Plateau. Here starts the descent into the 18 km long, 4 - 150 m wide and 700 m deep gorge. It will take about 4 - 6 hours to travel through the longest gorge in Europe. You will surely be fascinated by its wild beauty and diverse landscape. The narrowest part of the gorge is only about 4 m wide and at this point the steep rock faces rise to a height of 350 m.

In the afternoon you will finally arrive in the fishing village of Agia Roumeli at the Libyan Sea. Here you can recover from your walk in one of the taverns or bathe in the crystal clear, turquoise-blue sea. Later in the afternoon we will embark on a one-hour boat journey from Agia Roumeli to Chora Sfakion, passing the steep cliffs of the southern coast of Crete. The bus for the return journey will be waiting here.
Please remember... Good, flat walking shoes or mountain boots, a light jacket, sun protection (hat, cream), bathing things, lunch packet. In the gorge there is plenty of fresh, spring water.
